Our work

Loyalist Connections Creative Society is dedicated to promoting education and public engagement through podcasting. Our mission is to preserve and share the stories and history of African Nova Scotians, as well as explore the connections between past experiences and current issues. As a non-profit, we are committed to making a positive impact in our community and beyond.

Loyalist Connections Podcast

Loyalist Connections Podcast seeks to highlight historic Black communities in the Maritime Provinces and present throughlines between the past and present. By featuring notable individuals from the community, we examine modern strategies to build community capacity and cultural preservation.

Community Engagement

Loyalist Connections Creative Society supports several yearly conferences with our partners Saint Mary's University and The Black Loyalist Heritage Society.

The Community Capacity and Cultural Preservation Forum brings together notable Black leaders to share strategies and knowledge to overcome challenges specific to Black communities.

The Black  Loyalist Academic Conference of Knowledge provides a space for scholars and community knowledge keepers to bridge the gap when discussing emerging trends in Black Loyalist studies and Black scholarship more broadly. Held in Birchtown, Nova Scotia, it is located at the nexus of the Black Loyalist story.

Podcasting Production

Turn your social engagement into a targeted podcast series. Don't lose those valuable insights, record them and make them accessible through high quality podcast production and packaging.
